Winning Recipes. That's the dream of every cook who enters their county or state fairs. My mom went to Oregon State University and majored in Home Economics with a minor in History. Mom knew how to cook wonderful things. I remember spending alot of time in our kitchen with her. I loved watching her cook. She'd teach me as she was making meals. I don't remember her measuring things; she just knew how much to put in. I got my love of cooking from her.
Cooking, for me, is an art and a pleasure. If I've had a hard day, be it at work, or otherwise, I come home and get in the kitchen and cook. It relaxes me. Not every meal has to be a gourmet meal; sometimes the simplest meal is the best.
I was absoluteky stoked when I won Best in Show at our county fair last year, 2010. It was the first time I'd entered a county fair and I come home with Best in Show, plus two First Place ribbons.
I plan on entering our county fair from now on.
