Family Cookbooks
The above picture is of family cookbooks that my family has used. The one that started it all for me was the one in the lower left-hand corner entitled Cook's Collection. This cookbook was where my mom put all of her handwritten recipes. The name of my website came from that cookbook. The second cookbook that means alot to me is in the bottom row center - that was my mom's black cookbook. It's where the Banana Bread recipe I use and love came from. The third cookbook on the the right of the bottom row is my step mother-in-law's cookbook and I've made many a recipe from that.
On the top row is my favorite microwave cookbook - my mom and I used this cookbook often. It has my favorite meatloaf recipe in it - Something Special Meatloaf. The cookbook on the right on the top row is a "standard" in my house - it has so many wonderful recipes in it and is always a great "go to" cookbook.
Now just because most of these aren't handwritten cookbooks, doesn't mean they're not family cookbooks. To me, a family cookbook is whatever cookbook(s) you use on a continual basis, day after day, year after year, and that you're proud to display and share with your family and friends. It also ones that you may pass down to your children and grandchildren.
