Chocolate Loaf Cake
by Judi Harris
This is a wonderfully moist cake, sinful and delicious. One loaf doesn't last long in my house!
1 c water
1/3 c chocolate syrup
1/2 c oil or applesauce (using applesauce saves calories and it doesn't effect the taste of the cake)
3 eggs or egg substitute
1 box betty crocker super moist triple chocolate fudge cake mix
1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c powdered sugar for dusting
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease two bread pans; set aside. In a large bowl combine the water, chocolate syrup, applesauce, eggs, cake mix, and chocolate chips. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
3. Pour half the batter into one pan then the other. Put both pans on a cookie sheet and place on center rack. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes before removing to cooling rack. Put a cup of powdered sugar in a small collander and sprinkle over both loaves.
